Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition
Feb. 6th, 2011 04:10 pmWhen I was thirteen years old, a friend of mine took me to the school library and showed me a book: Exploring The Titanic, by Robert Ballard. She told me to read it, and promised that I wouldn't believe what I was about to read. I took her advice and read the book; from that day on, I was hooked on the story of the Titanic. It sounds like the work of a great fiction writer: the greatest ship ever built sets sail on her maiden voyage, only to encounter disaster.
So, when it was announced that the Telus World of Science in Calgary, AB would be hosting Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, I was about as happy as one could get. I'm not exaggerating when I say I was the first person outside the gates on opening day. This was something I have waited almost fifteen years now to see. I've seen the exhibition twice now, and this is my personal account of it.
