The Great 2011 Reading Challenge
Jan. 5th, 2011 09:44 pmI've come to the realization that I don't read nearly as much as I used to, and this kind of makes me uncomfortable. So, in the tradition of jumping off a bridge if all your friends are doing it, I've decided to undertake a reading challenge for 2011.
My goal is to read one book every week until the end of the year. Barring that, as many books as I can cram into the year. And eyeing the stack of unread books I've got going on in this living room, I'm off to a good start. So, first up on the list is Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins. I've read the first two books in the Hunger Games trilogy, but I never finished the third. I just finished rereading Catching Fire last month, so it seems appropriate to start with this book. I hope to be finished with it by Sunday, so I can start an official weekly thing.
I'm planning on documenting my progress here. Why I've chosen the books I have, what I'm thinking as I go along, final verdicts once I'm finished reading the book, etc. It should be some fun.
On a side note...I can't seem to type 2011 without screwing it up. I keep trying to type 2001. That's odd.
